SASSA Payment Dates for 2025

1. Older Persons Grant

Older Persons Grant helps South Africans over 60 who have little or no money. To get it you need to be a citizen or live there permanently and pass a simple income check. In 2025 you can get payments on April 2, May 6, June 3, July 2, August 5, SASSA Payments September Dates 2025 on September 2, October 2, November 4, and December 2. In 2026 payments will come on January 6, February 3, and March 3. You can take your money from ATMs, Postbank, or stores, but keep it safe with SASSA card safety. Always do a grant status check to know when you’ll get paid.

2. Disability Grant

Disability Grant helps South Africans with physical or mental disabilities who can’t work for six months or more. You need a valid check from a government doctor to qualify. You must also pass the income test. In 2025 payment dates are April 3, May 7, June 4, July 3, August 6, SASSA Payments September Dates 2025 on September 3, October 3, November 5, and December 3. In 2026, payments will be on January 7, February 4, and March 4. You can get money using a SASSA card, ATMs, or registered shops. 3. Child Support Grant

The Child Support Grant assists low-income families in raising children under 18. The caregiver must be a South African citizen or permanent resident and meet the means test. This grant helps cover school needs, food, and health expenses. Payment dates follow the Children’s Grant schedule: April 4, May 8, June 5, July 4, August 7, September 4, October 6, November 6, and December 4 in 2025. For 2026: January 8, February 5, and March 5. Always make sure your child’s birth certificate and school details are updated to avoid payment problems.

4. Foster Child Grant

The Foster Child Grant supports children placed in foster care by the court. It is higher than the Child Support Grant and is meant to help with clothing, food, and education costs. Only the legal foster parent may apply, and they must provide court documents. Payment dates are usually the same as the Children’s Grant: June 5, July 4, August 7,September7,and so on. This grant ends when the child turns 18 or when the court order expires. Always renew your foster care order on time to keep receiving the grant without interruption.

5. Care Dependency Grant

The Care Dependency Grant is for parents or caregivers of children with severe disabilities who need full-time care. The child must be under 18, and both the caregiver and the child must be South African citizens or residents. A government doctor must confirm the disability. This grant is paid on the same dates as the Children’s Grant: for example, June 5, July 4, August 7,September7, etc. The grant helps cover the cost of special care, therapy, and other needs. Keep medical and school records updated and report any change in your child’s condition or care status.

6. War Veterans Grant

The War Veterans Grant is for South African citizens who served in World War II or the Korean War and are now 60 years or older or disabled. The applicant must pass a means test and not receive any other social grant. Very few people now qualify due to the age requirement. Payment dates follow the Older Persons Grant schedule: for example, June 3, July 2, August 5,Sep, and so on. The grant helps cover daily living costs and medical needs. Keep your military service records ready when applying or renewing the grant.

7. Grant-in-Aid

The Grant-in-Aid is an extra payment for people already getting a SASSA grant, but who need full-time care from someone else. It helps pay for a caregiver or family support. A medical report from a government doctor is required to prove you need this care. It is added to your main grant and paid on the same day. For example, if you receive an Older Persons Grant, you get both payments on June 3, July 2, August3, etc. Always update your medical records to ensure continued support. You cannot get a Grant-in-Aid alone, it must go with another grant.

8. SRD R370 Grant

The SRD R370 Grant helps unemployed South Africans who have no other income or support. It is part of the COVID-19 Social Relief program and has continued monthly since then. You must apply online and pass a monthly verification check. Payments are not on fixed dates. Instead, SASSA pays approved beneficiaries in batches throughout the month, based on their verification and banking details. Check your status at srd.sassa.gov.za for payment updates. Always keep your banking details and phone number correct to avoid delays. Reapply if your status changes or if your application is declined.
